Figure Bots Tackle Nearly 40-Hour Warehouse Marathon

Figure AI livestreamed its latest Helix-02-powered Figure 03 humanoids sorting boxes for a full human-length shift—and then simply let them keep going.

As you read this Friday morning, the rotating lineup of Frank, Gary, Bob, and Rose has likely blown past 39 hours on the conveyor with upward of 50,000 packages handled and no human rescue crew in sight.

The marathon began on Wednesday as a standard eight-hour benchmark. It quickly stretched into a 24-hour run, logging over 30,000 parcels before management decided to find out how long 24/7 true autonomy could last.

Helix-02's trick is a single neural controller that fuses vision, touch, and balance, replacing 109,504 lines of hand-engineered C++ so the bots can rescan, grip, and restock while swapping out for fresh batteries.

Skeptics note the footage is still a company demo, not an independent audit, but rivals like Tesla, Agility, and Apptronik suddenly have a fresh public bar to clear.

Why it matters: If a fleet of tireless humanoids can hit human throughput overnight, logistics margins shift, and so do career plans for pick-and-pack staff. Warehouses may soon weigh hefty overtime bills against capital investments in robots that never call in sick, fundamentally reshaping the future of industrial labor and automation.

Copilot Mode Dies, Edge Gets Smarter

Because who needs modes when everything is mode-shaped?

Microsoft has killed the separate Copilot Mode in Edge and instead laced its AI assistant directly into the browser on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

The update that rolled out on Wednesday lets Copilot scan every open tab, compare hotel listings or research pages, and surface side-by-side summaries—no extra toggle required.

Journeys now bundles browsing history into project cards, while Voice and Vision let you talk through on-screen questions hands-free. A writing assistant, study-quiz generator, and "turn tabs into a podcast" trick aim to keep you productive without leaving Edge.

Just read the fine print: the writing assistant and mobile Journeys are US-only, podcasts are restricted to English-speaking markets, and the agentic "do it for me" features are locked behind a US Microsoft 365 Premium paywall.

On mobile, the toolbox almost mirrors desktop; long-term memory, screen sharing, and the redesigned new-tab page arrive together.

Critics welcome less tab-hopping but warn AI summaries can hide source links (while already mourning the much-loved Collections feature Microsoft slated for execution this year), and privacy hawks note Edge only peeks at your tabs or history with permission—though the Copilot button is now impossible to miss.

If you thought Edge was crowded before, wait until your browsing history starts talking back.

Need a better way to organize your actual work before Copilot decides to turn your project tabs into a podcast? Bring order to the chaos with monday.com.

Android Adds Intrusion Logging to Fight Spyware

Google just flipped on Intrusion Logging in Android's Advanced Protection Mode, letting high-risk users store encrypted forensic logs that can expose spyware or tampering long after an attack.

The opt-in tool, codesigned with Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders, records unlock attempts, app installs, DNS lookups, ADB commands, and more, then ships the data—encrypted so only the device owner can decrypt it—to the device owner's Google account for 12 months.

It's live for Pixel phones running the Android 16 December update and will expand beyond Pixels soon; researchers can already parse the logs with an updated Mobile Verification Toolkit to flag stealthy app behavior.

If you think you need it, enable it before trouble; logs can't time-travel. Head to Settings > Security & privacy > Advanced Protection > Intrusion Logging.

The downside? It also logs Chrome Incognito traffic, so browse accordingly.

Update ChatGPT for Mac Before June 12

OpenAI is forcing ChatGPT's Mac desktop users to install a freshly signed build after the Mini Shai-Hulud TanStack supply-chain attack infected two employee laptops and exposed the app's code-signing certificates.

The company says no customer data or production systems were touched, but older certs die on June 12; macOS Gatekeeper will then block ChatGPT Desktop 1.2026.125 alongside Codex, Atlas, and other OpenAI Mac tools. (Windows and iOS users, you're off the hook—no action needed.)

Until then, update only through the in-app prompt or OpenAI's site, and ignore installers sent via email, ads, or third-party links so you don't accidentally download a malware clone.

Skip the nagging; hit Check for Updates tonight.

Industry Shakeups

Cerebras IPO Ignites AI Market Frenzy

AI-chip maker Cerebras rocketed 68% in its Nasdaq debut on Thursday, raising $5.55 billion and vaulting to a $95 billion market cap (or a cool $107 billion fully diluted).

The listing—the biggest US tech IPO since Uber in 2019—shows Wall Street will pay almost any price for infrastructure powering generative AI. It's a massive industry shakeup, proving Nvidia finally has a scaled American rival. For the broader AI world, it signals a lucrative shift toward "inference," the tech that actually runs AI models rather than just training them.

Cerebras' dinner-plate-sized wafer chips promise up to 15× faster inference than leading GPUs. For businesses, fresh multiyear deals with OpenAI and AWS provide a desperately needed non-Nvidia cloud option. For consumers, this horsepower means lightning-fast AI agents without agonizing load times.

The hype is so real that Cerebras casually swatted away an 11th-hour buyout attempt from Arm and SoftBank just weeks before the IPO. Investors now hope the pop tees up mega-IPOs from SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic, while venture funds cheer a rare hardware exit that minted several new billionaires and a 12× return for notoriously hardware-phobic VC giant Benchmark.

Still, at 187× sales, even CNBC's famously frantic Mad Money host Jim Cramer says wait for a pullback—insiders can start dumping shares as early as this spring and summer.

Even chips the size of pizza boxes can give investors heartburn.
